Happy Mother’s Day!
Honoring Mother’s Day is centuries old. It is thought to have originated in ancient Greece, where they would hold festivities to honor Rhea, the mother of all the Greek gods. Others believe the Egyptians were the first, when honoring the goddess Isis, who was commonly regarded as the mother of the pharaohs. In the U.S., Congress approved the observation of Mother’s Day in 1914. Flowers, cards, home made meals or eating out at a restaurant are popular on this special day. We wish all mothers (and grandmothers,) a very Happy Mother’s Day!
