Gift Ideas For Teachers Or Caregivers
Trying to figure out what to get your child’s teacher or caregiver can be stressful. Some years you may luck out and know exactly what to get that person, while other years you might be stuck looking for a gift idea at the last minute. We’ve put together a little guide of what to buy and what not to buy your child’s teacher or caregiver this holiday season.
Things to Buy:
Gift Cards: Most people love gift cards, including those who teach or care for your kids. They make a great gift because the recipient can use them on what they want and they are readily available at many convenience or grocery stores. No matter what that special person in your child’s life is into, you will certainly be able to find a gift card that they will use.
Food: Food tends to be a great gift because you have so many options. If you know what kind of food the recipient likes, try to make a themed gift basket with these types of food items in them. If you are not sure what to get, a nice box of chocolates would most likely go over well.
Personalized Gifts: These types of gifts really let the recipient know that you have gone out of your way to get them something nice. A simple bag with the person’s name on it will delight almost any caregiver or teacher. If they aren’t into bags, get them something that they probably would use daily like a nice, personalized pen or a sunglass holder.
A Card With Money: If all else fails you can give them a card with money in it. Even though it may seem tacky, the recipient sure will appreciate it. Even if it’s only $10-$20, you know that it’s something that they can use to purchase whatever they want. Just make sure you pair it with a nice card.
Things to Stay Away From:
Mugs & Candles: Teachers and caregivers get more coffee mugs than they know what to do with. I get it, mugs are a cheap and easy choice and there are many to choose from. However, it’s probably something that the recipient just doesn’t need.
Body Care Products: We’ve all seen it, those cute little gift sets with bubble bath and body lotion. This is another item that’s readily available and often given as gifts. Even though that pretty little bottle of hand lotion may smell nice, the person you are planning on giving it to most likely has a cupboard full of them.
Christmas Related Items: Sure Christmas related items look nice, but the problem is that they can only be used a couple of weeks out of the year. You’re better off getting the recipient something that they can enjoy more often.
