New Stroller Brands Coming to the U.S.

| April 28, 2012 | 1 Comment

Most of us are familiar with stand-by brands that have been around for generations such as Graco or Maclaren. With the stroller market seemingly saturated with brands from mass market economical up to the highest-end luxury, it’s a wonder if any new brands can make a go of it with some success. Well they can! And today I’d like to introduce to you a couple of new brands that may become the next UPPAbaby.

Let’s get to know Baby Cargo and QuickSmart.

Created by a team of designers and engineers who are also parents, Baby Cargo is a new line of baby gear that gets its inspiration a number of ways. From fashion runways, nature to cars, elements of style are blended into the designs of Baby Cargo products.

Right now Baby Cargo just makes strollers, but on their website, it looks like they will be making play yards and high chairs as well.

So the strollers, they are umbrella strollers that are called the 100, 200 and 300 series, each with a few more features and amenities for both mother and child. All strollers weigh under 15 pounds and have specially engineered wheels that give a smooth ride. A carrying strap and compact easy fold make Baby Cargo strollers an attractive option to take traveling.

Reviews so far have been great. There are a couple of YouTube video reviews and plenty of blogger reviews. Moms say they like the soft fabric and comfortable handle height. You can find Baby Cargo on Amazon and theĀ 100 Series is about $110. The 200 series is $150 and then the 300 series costs about $179.

QuickSmart

quicksmart strollerAustralian company QuickSmart now has its innovative and convenient products offered in the United States. QuickSmart is all about folding compact size, light weight and travel-friendly baby gear for families on the go. They have a line of strollers, cots, high chairs and ride ons with unique designs.

QuickSmart has two very modern looking strollers: Backpack and Easy Fold. The Backpack stroller weighs only 11 pounds and folds small enough to go into a backpack small enough to store in the overhead bin on the airplane. It’s a real basic stroller, though. It has no recline and your baby must be 6 months old up to 45 pounds to ride. It also does not have any basket at all.

I haven’t seen any reviews for the QuickSmart Backpack stroller – yet, but if you want to be a pioneer, especially if you’re taking a trip somewhere, then you can buy the Backpack on Amazon for about $170.

The Easy Fold stroller is a bit bigger, weighing 15.4 pounds and folds intuitively and easily into a size so compact that it fits in the smallest car trunks. It has a two position reclining seat with a handle height that is tall enough for everyone’s comfort. Your child can weigh up to 45 pounds and must be at least 6 months old to ride. The Easy Fold also comes with a travel bag and rain shield, but the shopping basket looks really small.

Again, there are no reviews out for the Easy Fold stroller, but you can buy it on Amazon for about $220. This is a great little stroller for those of you with sub-compact cars or small living spaces.
